WASHINGTON, D.C. – On Monday, October 15, 2007, the National Association of Broadcasters (NAB) will host a press conference to announce an unparalleled consumer education marketing campaign to reach television viewers with information about the February 17, 2009 transition to digital television. Broadcasting networks and local stations in television markets across the country are working closely together in the comprehensive campaign.
David K. Rehr, president and CEO of NAB, will be joined by K. James Yager, CEO of Barrington Broadcasting Group; Ibra Morales, president of Telemundo Group, Inc.; John Lawson, president and CEO of the Association of Public Television Stations (APTS); Chris Rohrs, president of the Television Bureau of Advertising (TVB) and other broadcasting executives to announce the multi-platform, multifaceted marketing campaign, which will complement the variety of other initiatives undertaken by broadcasters to educate consumers about the nation's switch to digital broadcasting.
