Illuminating the Vietnam War through Literature
This session will provide participants with materials to use literature generated by the Vietnam War in their classrooms. With non-fiction, novels, poetry, short stories and music, students can examine a variety of perspectives on the Vietnam experience. Materials for using Caputo's Rumor of War, Lan Cao's Monkey Bridge and other works will be provided along with hands-on activities and a syllabus for a University of California-approved one semester English elective course.
