###
Letter
from the Founder and President
Waterside
2002 will mark the twentieth anniversary of Waterside
Productions, Inc . and is being held January 31-February
2, 2002 to help us access the remarkable changes
of the last several months. The event is again
being held at the San Diego Hilton Beach and Tennis
Resort. We predict that 2001 and 2002 will be
regarded as watershed years in our industry. This
year's conference will take a hard look at the
'back to basics' lessons that all publishers need
to focus on--what are the key elements behind
new bestsellers, what marketing strategies are
truly cost effective, what if any add-ons truly
increase sales, how do publishers continue to
explore new technology opportunities without diverting
their attention and resources from the primary
business of selling more books?
This
year will inaugurate the Waterside-Books 24x7
Computer and Business Books Excellence awards
to honor outstanding authors and their books.
We feature an outstanding collection of speakers
and cutting edge companies in an environment,
which encourages ideas and relationships to grow
and coalesce in ways, which benefits the entire
industry.
We look forward to your participation at Waterside
2002 and thank you for making this such a productive,
stimulating and enjoyable event.
All the best,
Bill Gladstone
