Update from HHS
The Office of the National Coordinator will outline the series of grant initiatives that have been announced and discuss the unique roles of the states related to coordination, points of leverage for HIE deployment, and system transformation.
CMS will review the importance and role of state Medicaid programs in implementing Meaningful Use and preparing for payment incentives and the need for coordination with other HIE activities within the states |

BUILDING CRITICAL INFRASTRUCTURE ONCE AND FOR ALL
Especially in the face of current economic conditions, states are looking toward collaboration to maximize efficiency. Certain critical infrastructures that enable health information exchange that can be universally utilized can be advantageous to states.Â
Additionally, states as employers and payers can use policy levers to advance the future we look forward to seeing in the era of health information exchange. This panel will discuss ways that different states have tackled these issues. |
