Hundreds of well-dressed revelers turned out last Saturday night for the first-ever eNaugural.com Ball at the National Press Club building in Washington, D.C. Though spurred on by the inauguration of a new president, many of those who attended the five-hour event came to celebrate the local high tech economy instead.

Apollo 11 astronaut Buzz Aldrin, the second human to walk on the moon, served as honorary master of ceremonies. As someone who witnessed the technological leap brought by the Space Race of the 1960s, Aldrin said he is still amazed at the march of technology today. And as if to uphold a law that states any time two or more local tech workers gather they must network, many eNaugural participants were seen swapping business cards, job information and even possible deal arrangements. One attendee, Nigerian Congressman Jerry Sonny Ugokwe, outlined for Washtech.com his hopes in attracting interest and business from the area for his country.
