Cynthia Greer, counsel in Shaw Pittman's technology group, concentrates her practice in the intellectual property field with particular emphasis on music licensing issues for new technologies. Ms. Greer is also involved in transactional matters, including the acquisition and licensing of intellectual property rights, web site development agreements, outsourcing and strategic relationships.

Prior to joining Shaw Pittman, Ms. Greer was a partner in the Washington, D.C. communications firm of Fisher Wayland Cooper Leader & Zaragoza, which merged with Shaw Pittman in April of this year. While with Fisher Wayland, Ms. Greer participated in drafting that portion of the Digital Millennium Copyright Act pertaining to digital performance rights in sound recordings and lobbied Congress on the issue.
