Terri Youngblood

Over
the last decade, Terri Youngblood has been one of the few driving
forces behind accessible information technology (IT) in the
Federal Government. Her grasp of information technology, accessible
technology, assistive technology, and needs assessments make
her one of the few recognized experts in this area.
Terri
Youngblood is president and owner of Accessible Systems, Inc.,
one of the most prominent accessibility-consulting and information
technology testing firms in the U.S. Her company has secured
contracts with federal agencies like The Department of Education,
Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, Food and Drug Administration,
United States Patent and Trademark Office, Department of Transportation,
Social Security Administration, and businesses like Microsoft
Corp., CACI and DST, as well as direct consultation with individuals
with disabilities.
Youngblood
has developed accessibility standards for the government and
software industry, tested countless software applications, and
provided consultation to information technology developers.
She has served as policy analyst, performance analyst, and information
technology curriculum developer. Her most recent success was
the curriculum development for the "Unlocking the Possibilities"
project at Highway 1.
Ms
Youngblood's significant contributions in the assistive technology
arena have been recognized by numerous awards including Vice
President Gore's Hammer Award, the AAES Excellence in Access
Award, the Encore Achievers Award from CACI, and recognition
from the Department of Education for her work in developing
the Requirements for Accessible Software Design.
