Designing and Implementing a Vietnam Veterans Oral History Project
This session will present experiences, historical significance and lessons learned from the San Diego Ex-Prisoner of War Oral History Project. Participants will examine and discuss oral history interview protocol, various recording media and several finished products representing varying levels of sophistication. Discussion will then turn to developing a Vietnam veterans oral history project that might be conducted by scholars, veterans, family members, students and other interested parties, and the uses to which such a project could be put. Presenter: Abraham Shragge, Ph.D. Dr. Shragge is the director of the Dimensions of Culture Program at Thurgood Marshall College, UCSD (La Jolla, Calif.).
