The annual Veterans Day Observance at The Wall, co-hosted by the Vietnam
Veterans Memorial Fund and the National Park Service, will take place on
Saturday, November 11 at 1:00 p.m. Tune in at 12:45 for pre-event interviews. More than 3,000 are expected to
attend and pay tribute to all who served and sacrificed during the
Vietnam War and America's other conflicts, including Afghanistan and Iraq.
During the ceremony, Air Force Secretary Michael Wynne will pay tribute
to his brother, Patrick Edward Wynne, who lost his life in Vietnam 40
years ago.
Other featured speakers include:
U.S. Surgeon General
Kenneth P. Moritsugu, M.D., MPH; former NASA astronaut Captain Frederick
Hauck, USN (Ret.); and CM2 Elizabeth Lopez, USNR. Vikki Keys,
superintendent, National Mall and Memorial Parks, and Laureen Otto,
secretary of the Vietnam Women's Memorial Foundation, also will provide
remarks. Jan Scruggs will serve as master of ceremonies.
