The USMMA KP Alumni - Chesapeake Chapter, Inc. will provide an Annual Veterans Day Maritime Dinner Program Thursday November 10, 2011 at 5:30P.M.

Commemorating Veterans' Day is a cornerstone Mission Support event of our KP Alumni Chapters. It serves to honor our Armed Forces and Merchant Marine Veterans, and is provided as a KP Alumni Tell America Event: "Tell America About Kings Point and the U.S. Merchant Marine!"

Our 3rd Annual Event will compliment our past two outstanding presentations - (2009) RADM Mark "Buz" Buzby, USN (KP '79) - Commander, Military Sealift Command, and (2010) RADM Philip H. Greene, JR., USMS (KP '78) - Superintendent, U.S. Merchant Marine Academy. Both of our past Veterans Day Maritime Dinner Programs represented our support of our Veterans as well as the U.S. Merchant Marine. Our 2011 Program continues this theme.

Our 2011 program will be highlighted by a Kings Point Tribute to VADM Albert J. Herberger, USN (Ret.) (KP '55).
VADM Herberger will serve as our Guest of Honor and Program Speaker. He will be honored for his sustained advocacy of our U.S. Merchant Marine and our Veterans. This dinner program will be an "all-out" effort and representation of Kings Point and the Maritime Industry, as we honor VADM Herberger, as well as our Veterans - Armed Forces and Merchant Marine!

Additionally, we will invite our other 4 esteemed Kings Point Graduate Flag Rank Officers - VADM Scarborough, USCG (Ret.) (KP '44), VADM Kevin J. Cosgriff, USN (Ret.) (KP '71), RADM Philip H. Greene, JR., USMS (KP '78) and RADM Mark "Buz" Buzby, USN (KP '79) - to participate in our program.

We will also be inviting other Government / Political and Industry guests as appropriate for this tribute, including: Congressman Frank LoBiondo (R-NJ), Congressman Elijah Cummings (D-MD), Congressman Andy Harris (R-MD), Congressman Roscoe G. Bartlett (R-MD), Congressman Steny H. Hoyer (D-MD), Congressman Chris Van Hollen (D-MD).


We will also invite DOT Secretary Ray LaHood, former USMMA Superintendent RADM Thomas A. King, USMS (Ret.) (KP '42), Captain Tim Brown (KP '65) - President, IOMMP, and former Congresswoman Helen Delich Bentley (R-MD).

Our invitations will include Kings Point Graduate former Maritime Administrators: Warren Leback '44, Captain William G. Schubert '74, and Sean Connaughton '83.

We will highlight the attendance of our USMMA Midshipman Regimental Color Guard, Honor Guard and Drill Team. Program music will be provided by our Regimental Band members. This Maritime Dinner Program will include our Maritime Industry Table Top Exhibit Program (30 Exhibitors), and our Program Brochure Advertiser Program.

Event will also feature our Maritime Art Raffle Drawing. The Prize Art - "Spinnakers Under the Skyway", full-sized (18" x 36") framed, limited-edition print on canvas, provided by KP Chesapeake Chapter Member - Maritime Artist Michael Woodard '81, Mariner Graphics www.MarinerGraphix.com.
Proceeds to support our KP Alumni Global Leadership Conference and our Midshipman Programs.
