The theme for the meeting is “Maritime Support of Domestic Disaster Relief” and the role that the commercial maritime industry can serve in planning, preparing and implementing disaster relief activities. The meeting will focus on and discuss preparedness planning and lessons learned from the hurricane Katrina efforts and on vessel and port facility recovery responses and preparedness planning for both natural and terrorist induced disasters.
