Richard C. Notebaert was elected chairman and CEO of Qwest Communications International, Inc. on June 17, 2002. Previously, Notebaert was president and CEO of Tellabs, a position he had held since August 2000. Prior to Tellabs, he served as chairman of the board of Ameritech Corporation. His 30-year career with Ameritech included positions as president of Ameritech Services, president and COO of Ameritech Corp., and, finally, the company's chairman and CEO. Notebaert received his B.A. and M.A. in Business Administration from the University of Wisconsin.
