Background Information
On May 11, 2009, NSF's Office of Integrative Activities (OIA) released two program solicitations, for the Academic Research Infrastructure – Recovery and Reinvestment program (ARI-R2) and for the Major Research Instrumentation – Recovery and Reinvestment program (MRI-R2). The ARI-R2 solicitation announces a one-time funding opportunity with deadlines of July 1, 2009 for letters of intent and August 24, 2009 for full proposals.  The MRI-R2 solicitation announces a new competition of the Major Research Instrumentation program with a proposal deadline of August 10, 2009. The ARI-R2/MRI-R2 Interactive Webcast from the National Science Foundation in Arlington, VA will discuss: the purpose and scope of the programs, submission limits, and other issues of interest to potential proposers.  NSF program officials will begin the webcast with a presentation summarizing the two programs and will then respond to questions that are e-mailed to the address above before or during the webcast, as time allows.
