Communicating the Value of Veterans Housing
Public opinion polls often show widespread support for general measures to help military veterans access homes they can afford. But when it comes to specific development proposals, NIMBY sentiment can sometimes get in the way. At the same time, housing providers can have a tough time finding veteran tenants or owners once development is complete. This panel will explore challenges faced in communicating about veterans housing issues and provide expert advice on communicating the value of affordable veteran housing to key audiences like community members, policy makers and veterans themselves. The session will offer a preview of the forthcoming NHC Veterans Housing Communications Toolkit and gather audience input to be incorporated into the final product.
