Shaun Alfreds

Shaun T. Alfreds MBA, CPHIT is a Senior Project Director in Public Sector Health Informatics at the University of Massachusetts Medical School Center for Health Policy and Research. Mr. Alfreds has broad experience in applied health services research, policy analysis, and technical assistance focusing on the needs of State and Federal public sector agencies and clients.

Mr. Alfreds has led health services research, program assessment and policy analysis projects for state Medicaid agencies in Massachusetts, New Hampshire, and Maine. Mr. Alfreds has also lead health policy analysis and evaluation projects funded by the Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality and the Office of the National Coordinator for Health Information technology. Mr. Alfreds’ current research focuses on the economic, technical, and policy issues for public programs related to health information technologies and electronic health information exchange (eHIE).

Mr. Alfreds holds a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Massachusetts, a Master of Business Administration degree from the University of Maine and is also a Certified Professional in Health Information Technology.
