Report on Progress by Taskforces and Dialogue with State Alliance

  Members of the State Alliance for e-Health Taskforces on Health Care Practice and Health Information Protection will each report to the State Alliance on the results of their February and March 2007 meeting deliberations and outline their work plan moving forward.  The taskforce members will also engage in a discussion with the State Alliance members on scope and direction for the overall effort.

Landscape of Business Models for Electronic Health Information Exchange

 
  • Viki Prescott, principal investigator of a report produced by the American Health Information Management Association on health information exchange services that are financially sustainable will share the findings of that report. 

  • Anne Chapman, Senior Program Manager of Personal Health Record Programs at Digital Health Group/Intel Corp will discuss efforts of private-sector employers to fund the development of the Dossia Network - an independent secure, non-profit infrastructure for gathering and securely storing information for lifelong health records.
2:00 pm             Role of Publicly Funded Programs in Electronic Health Information Exchange
 
  • William Hacker, MD, FAAP, CPE, Commissioner of the Kentucky Department for Public Health will share some key considerations for the role of public health in electronic health information exchange.

  • Anthony Rodgers, Director, Arizona Health Care Cost Containment System (AHCCCS) will offer considerations for the role of Medicaid in electronic health information exchange and provide an overview of Arizona Medicaid’s effort to transform health care in the State  through health information technology and exchange.
