STATE ALLIANCE FOR e-HEALTH TO HOLD
INAUGURAL MEETING

Governors, Attorneys General, Legislators, Insurance Commissioners and other experts to Address State-level Health Information Technology Issues

Friday, January 26, 2007
Key Bridge Marriott - Arlington, VA.
9:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m.

The State Alliance for e-Health invites the public to a live, captioned, webcast of its inaugural meeting. The organization is a state-led effort with the goal of developing real-world solutions and model practices for addressing state-level barriers to widespread adoption of health information technology and challenges to interoperable health information exchange. The webcast will be archived for later on-demand viewing.

Created last October under a contract with the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services Office of the National Coordinator (ONC) for Health Information Technology, the State Alliance will work to improve the nation’s health care system through the effective and efficient use of health information technology. Tennessee Gov. Phil Bredesen and Vermont Gov. Jim Douglas are serving as co-chairs. Additional appointees to the 20-member State Alliance will be introduced on January 26.

There is no registration required to attend the meeting. The general public is invited to “listen in” on the discussions in person or via the Internet. Please note that there will be limited seating at the meeting, up to 120 public attendees on a first come first serve basis. A photo I.D. is required to attend the meeting in person. The public will have the opportunity to provide comments at the end of the meeting.  If you have special needs for the meeting, please contact (202) 624-5347.
