The National Association of Broadcasters (NAB) will host its special live digital television (DTV) transition webcast for congressional district staff and caseworkers on Tuesday, July 29, from 1 p.m. EDT. The webcast will be hosted by NAB Executive Vice President of Television Marcellus Alexander and Vice President of Digital Television Transition Jonathan Collegio. Additionally, U.S. Rep. Marsha Blackburn (R-TN) is scheduled to participate via live call-in to discuss best practices for educating constituents about the switch to DTV. This briefing will give participants the opportunity to learn:

  • How the federally-mandated transition will impact communities across America
  • About NAB's DTV toolkit being shipped to congressional offices in early August
  • How to educate constituents about the switch
  • What consumer education and outreach initiatives are already underway by broadcasters
  • How to obtain information about the DTV coupon program and converter boxes, as well as basic information on the transition and its key players
  • What resources NAB can provide to help members of Congress educate their constituents

Additionally, participants will be given the opportunity to ask questions about the transition, via email, during the webcast.
