Chantilly, Va. – The United Way of the National Capital Area is still paying the price for its former leader's theft of over $1 million from the organization. Philanthropy Forum, a webcast panel discussion show on Internet TV Channel KindStream.com
(www.KindStream.com) will discuss the Oral Suer scandal and what steps the United Way NCA is taking to rehabilitate the group's reputation and regain the public's trust. The show, scheduled for Friday, June 25, 2004 at 1PM ET, will also examine ethics in general and ways in which boards of directors can assure that best management practices are used by their staff.

The webcast will originate from the studios of TV Worldwide in Chantilly, Virginia and invited guests include Chuck Anderson, CEO of the United Way of the National Capital Area, William Couper, Board Chairman of the United Way NCA and President of Bank of America in Greater Washington, Deborah Hechinger, CEO and President of Boardsource, and Jacquelyn Salmon, philanthropy writer for the Washington Post. Steve Jarriel of TV Worldwide will host the webcast event.

The webcast, sponsored by Carlton & Company Fundraising Consultants, is the second in a series of Philanthropy Forum webcasts the KindStream Internet TV channel will feature as part of its commitment to producing important content of interest to nonprofit organizations. Viewers will be able to e-mail questions to the panel creating a truly interactive forum to address the issues.

The live webcast will begin at 1PM ET at www.KindStream.com and at www.tvworldwide.com. Participants should have the latest version of the free Real Video or Windows Media Player installed prior to the event and should log on by 12:45 PM ET on June 25th. The live Internet telecast will be made available as an archived file, shortly thereafter and will be hosted for one full year at www.KindStream.com .

“We're pleased to feature such an important discussion on our interactive Philanthropy Forum webcast,” stated Michael Clark, CEO of KindStream Media. “The impact of financial scandal upon a nonprofit can be an organizational near-death experience. It damages their reputations and more importantly means fewer resources get to those in need. This is an opportunity to hear the facts of the case and how the United Way is reestablishing its reputation in the capital area.”
