International Television Association's DC chapter (ITVA-DC) lit up the night with the annual Peer Awards. The largest industry event for media professionals by media professionals celebrates the film and video achievements of their colleagues in the region at the esteemed National Press Club.
Adding to this year's excitement, TVWorldwide.com,
a web-based global TV network, interviewed each Peer Award recipient. Like backstage press interviews following the Golden Globes and Oscars, TVWorldwide.com conducted the interviews, archived the footage and allowed Peer Award winners to link to the footage for use on their respective websites.
An industry highlight of the event, however, was the recognition three of Washington, D.C.'s legendary production pioneers. Tom Angell, Rob Henniger and Fritz Roland who were all honored with ITVA-DC's 2003 Distinguished Achievement Award. These production superstars of Interface Media Group, Henniger Media Services and Roland House respectively helped to shape and define nearly four decades of film and video productions in the government, corporate, political and broadcast arenas. Their stellar contributions to this region's production industry are numerous and will be applauded for their impact and influence
People around the world can participate online through the Internet simulcast, accessible through www.tvworldwide.com .
Participants should have the free Real Video Player or the free Windows Media Player installed to view the event. Questions during the live pre-show can be directed to 703-961-9250, ext 223.
