In addition, this year's Lifetime Achievement Award for Business and Financial Reporting is presented to David Schlesinger, Editor-in-Chief of Reuters News at Thomson Reuters.
"Recent events have shown just how important good economic journalism is to Wall Street and Main Street alike," said Bill Small, Chairman of the News & Documentary Emmy Awards. "Many of this year's submissions examined the mortgage meltdown that precipitated the current global economic crisis. This year's nominees represent the best of a very strong group of entries, and we are pleased to pay tribute to them. In addition, we are pleased to be honoring an important but often overlooked area of our craft by presenting two Emmys for outstanding promotional announcements." The Emmy Awards for Business & Financial Reporting recognize outstanding achievement in business & financial reporting telecast or webcast from July 1, 2007 thru June 30, 2008. The Emmy Awards for Promotional Announcements recognize outstanding promotional announcements in News & Documentary programming aired in 2007.
