Administrator's Letter Our great 16th President, Abraham Lincoln once said, "Whatever you are, be a good one." The outstanding men and women of the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration embody these words to their fullest. As Administrator, I am proud that we have so many employees within our agency who are dedicated and passionate about saving lives. This year's honorees have been selected because they continually rise to the challenges we face in commercial motor vehicle safety. Every day, the men and women we honor keep our mission of saving lives at the forefront of their daily work. They carry out their lifesaving work with intense focus, strong direction, and abundant energy. America depends on us to make their roads safe - it's an enormous responsibility. Being a "good one" does more than get the job done efficiently and effectively. It builds positive momentum for the entire agency. Your hard work makes a difference by engaging our industry, cracking down on unsafe drivers and companies, collaborating on a new safety rule or issuing grants to encourage highly visible traffic enforcement or protecting consumers against deceitful moving companies. Our agency has accomplished a great deal in the name of safety this year. Your work truly matters! I deeply appreciate your commitment to your work, and to safety, the number one mission of the Department. Once again, thank you for your outstanding service. Let's keep our momentum going strong.
