California (SSN 781) is the eighth Virginia-Class submarine built by Northrop Grumman Shipbuilding and General Dynamics' Electric Boat.

California will be christened by her sponsor, Mrs. Donna Willard, in Newport News, VA on November 6, 2010.

The event is closed to the public, however a LIVE webcast is scheduled.
