Thursday, April 17, 2003 Chantilly, Va. – TVWorldwide.com, a web-based global TV network, in cooperation with the Vietnam Veterans Memorial Fund, the National Park Service and Base Technologies, will simulcast live via satellite and the Internet, a program commemorating the 5th annual “In Memory Day” Ceremony at the East Knoll, Vietnam Veterans Memorial in Washington, D.C. on April 21. The Ceremony will honor 400 American heroes posthumously, paying tribute to these men and women who died prematurely because of non-combat injuries and emotional suffering caused directly by the Vietnam War but who are not eligible for inscription on the Vietnam Veterans Memorial.

The Vietnam Veterans Memorial Fund, the non-profit organization established in 1979 to build the Vietnam Memorial, is grateful to Base Technologies and TVWorldwide.com for their support this year in honor of the “In Memory Day” Ceremony. “These companies enabled us to bring this year’s ceremony to American veterans and their families around the world” said Jan C. Scruggs, Founder and President of the Vietnam Veterans Memorial Fund.

More than 1,000 Veterans and their families are expected to attend the 5th annual “In Memory Day” observance at the Vietnam Veterans Memorial this year. TV Worldwide’s simulcast which begins at 9:50 AM EST, April 21, will feature speakers that include Lieutenant General John S. Caldwell, Jr., USA, Military Deputy to the Assistant Secretary of the Army for Acquisition, Logistics and Technology. Memorial Fund founder Jan Scruggs will serve as Master of Ceremonies.

Last year, TV Worldwide.com in cooperation with the National Park Service, broadcast the November 11 Vietnam Veterans Memorial 20th Anniversary Celebration and the Washington, D.C., July 4 Fireworks Celebration via satellite and the Internet for American civilian and military personnel stationed overseas. The interactive broadcasts honored fallen son, U.S. Army Captain Rocky Versace captured by the Viet Cong in 1963 and executed in 1965.
