TVWorldwide.com announced that it was collaborating with sponsor Base Technologies, Inc to webcast the 4-H National Tech Conference, Saturday, July 27 live from the St. Paul Campus Auditorium of the University of Minnesota, from 8:30AM-12PM CDT. The" town meeting" style webcast will cover several events to be held Saturday of the show, beginning with a general assembly presentation at the conference and then offering live e-mail and chat interactivity with on-line teens nationwide as state tech team teen delegates and adult team leaders are interviewed.

Since 1995, 4-H members and staff have been formally discussing the role of Information Technology in the 4-H youth development program. Delegates to the National 4-H Conference have been among the leaders in this discussion, making recommendations for implementing and integrating technology and information technology in the 4-H program. A number of these recommendations were implemented as demonstration projects at the national level or as local initiatives.

The 4-H National Tech Conference webcast will be available live and archived for later viewing at www.tvworldwide.com. Participants should have the free Real Player installed prior to the event and should log on by 8:15 AM EST on July 27th. CONFERENCE LOGISTICS

When: Begins with supper and an opening assembly on Wednesday July 24, closes at Noon on Sunday July 28. Delegations are encouraged to arrive early to participate in Pre-Conference technology tours.

Where: The University of Minnesota, St. Paul campus

Who: 4-H members 14 –18 years old and adult advisors. State delegation size is 2 (1 youth, 1 adult) to 8 (6-7 youth, 1-2 adults) people. States are encouraged to include participants from a variety of 4-H programs, including CYFAR and ASA&T programs, in their delegation. Registration is limited to 300 people.

Cost: Registration fee is $125 per person, which includes room and board. Pre-Conference Tours, State Night Out dinner and activities, parking, and extra night lodging are additional costs. Registrations paid for after May 1 will be assessed a late fee.

Registration: Online registration opens March 1. Final registration is June 14.
